Girls County Championships – Sunday
13th April |
|
Hadley Wood |
|
The day started ‘with a bang’
- literally! As the girls arrived
and began preparing for their game
the heavens opened and an impressive
thunder storm ensued. The claxon
sounded and the course was evacuated
– it wasn’t looking good! |
|
However just a few minutes before
the first tee times the sky cleared
and so did the club house - the
girls were on their way. Amazingly
most of the girls only suffered
short rain showers out on the course
and nobody got too wet and cold.
Conditions weren’t easy on this long
and ‘testy’ course but the girls
battled well and there were some
great performances. |

Despite an extremely short warm up
(as she was the first player
out)Lucy Glynn put in a fantastic
card. She shot a gross 75 (nett 70)
and as a result becomes our new
County Junior Champion. Lucy will
go on to represent
Hertfordshire in the Champion of
Champions at the South East
Championships |

Other notable
performances included
Lucy Goddard and Emily
Chan . Emily won the
best nett on the day
after shooting 81 and
finishing with a nett
71- well done! |

We were pleased that
Don Bailey - the
Hadley Wood President,could
join us for the
presentation and say a
few words on their
behalf. Congratulations
to all the girls who
took part, it is
exciting to see such
talent within the
county. |
