MERGER WITH THE HGU GETS THE GREEN LIGHT
At our County AGM on Monday 27th November the resolution to merge HCLGA and the HGU was passed by an overwhelming majority. At the same time an Extraordinary General Meeting was held by the HGU at which they also voted overwhelmingly in favour.
This result gives the go ahead to complete the final arrangements to form the new merged body, Hertfordshire Golf Ltd, to commence operation on 1st January 2018.
We will inform you as this venture progresses.
Hume Double at the Junior Autumn Meeting

A double for the Humes at the Junior Autumn Meeting held at Harpenden Common.
Ellen won the Barbara Quirk Shield for the best gross score (33pts) and younger sister Esme won the Autumn Cup for the best nett score (41pts).
Bishop's Stortford retain Powell Cup

In very blustery conditions, Bishop's Stortford, represented by Jackie Foster and Rebecca Earl, retained the Powell Cup beating Welwyn Garden City, represented by Kelly Hutcherson and Esther Strous,. This is the third year in succession that this pair have won the trophy.
Sue Allison retains Seniors Championship

In luckily pleasant weather at Aldwickbury Park GC, Sue Allison (Knebworth) successfully defended the Seniors Championship. The Handicap Champion was Julie Nedza (Mill Green) and County Captain, Jane Walter (Harpenden Common) won the Veterans Trophy.
Bishop's Stortford win the Ovaltine Cup

Winners of the groups in each of the four divisions in the Hertfordshire Ovaltine League took part in the Finals Day held yesterday, 15 October, at Porters Park Golf Club. Eight teams took part in four finals matches. The winners of the two groups in Division One, Bishop's Stortford and Essendon, were vying for the beautiful Ovaltine Cup.
Lesley Williams and Sarah Wollas (Letchworth) win the Ann MacLaurin Trophy

Congratulations to Lesley and Sarah who won the Ann MacLaurin Trophy held at Knebworth on Sunday 1 October with 38 points.
This is an 18 hole greensomes stableford for a lady and a junior pair with a minimum combined handicap of 20, maximum combined handicap of 50

A resolution to proceed with the merger will be put to the vote at the HCLGA AGM which takes place on Monday 27 November. At the same time the HGU will hold an EGM to vote on the resolution.
