Congratulations to Emmanuelle Hewson who received the trophy for the Hertfordshire Junior Order of Merit – Scratch division at the AGM of the Herts County Ladies Golf Association on Monday 27 November.
It was a double double this year at the Junior County Championships held on the 30th May at Batchworth Park Golf.
It was a double for Rebecca Earl who had also won the Ladies Championship held at Old Fold Manor earlier on in the year. And a double for Bishops Stortford Club because both Rebecca and Hallie Copping Jones who won the Net Prize both play at that club.
The weather was good to us it was a lovely day except for a little bit of wind. This year it was decided to change the Championship to 18 holes and to include Cadets but unfortunately only one Cadet entered. It has been decided to move the date of the competition next year to a Sunday in July to enable both Cadets and any Juniors who are studying for exams to enter.
Thank you to everyone who played I hope you enjoyed the day let all your friends know and hopefully we will get a few more entries next year.

East Herts hosted the HCLGA Junior Spring Meeting , the first Major of the season. on 10 April 2017
The weather was bright but still a bit chilly in the wind. The course was in very good condition considering it was early in the season and a very good test for the girls.
The format for the event was a Stableford competition with a total of 17 girls playing.
The winner with 38 points was Olivia Rael-Brook from Dyrham Park. Sophie Brooke came 2nd on count back from Hallie Copping-Jones with 33 points. Ciara Vanston came fourth with 32 points.fourth on count back from Connie Packer and Maddie Rolph.
Olivia was also the winner of the Gross prize.
Congratulation to all the participants and winners.
Look forward to seeing you all at the Championships.
Our annual friendly against Middlesex took place on thhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZiV4KhvuQJwe 8th April at the great venue of Stanmore Golf Club in Middlesex.
We couldn’t ask for better weather for it and the girls were excited and ready for a great afternoon of golf. The course looked inviting and you can see the season is on its way. The first hole looked particularly interesting as a 90 degree dog leg right.
Team for this year’s match was our current Spring Meeting winner Millie Pratten (Essendon), Mawgan Vater (East Herts), Emmanuelle Hewson (Mid Herts), Danielle Storten-Sey (Chesfield Downs) and Emma Shepherd (Little Hay)
A tough task ahead with Middlesex hosting a strong team, but the Hertfordshire girls were ready for it and took to their challenge in the only way they know how, to be the best they can. They did not disappoint as each girl played great golf and had some amazing shots out on the course.
Hertfordshire had two great wins with Millie and Mawgan managing to gain a point for the team. Emma and Emmanuelle played to their handicap but the opposition were too good on the day and therefore Middlesex gained two points there. All tied with Danielle in the last match taking on the task of playing against two Middlesex players (they played Greensomes while Danielle had the great opportunity of playing two off the tee). Taking one for the team, Danielle played great golf, but again Middlesex proved too strong and won the 5th and deciding point for the day.
The result, 3 Middlesex 2 Hertfordshire
To our very hospitable hosts, Middlesex, we wish you all the best for your season ahead and thank you for a brilliant day.
CONGRATULATIONS HERTS!!! A great effort and performance on the day
On 6th April 2016, Brookmans Park Golf Club hosted our Junior Girls for their first major of the season.
The sun was shining as the girls teed off in the afternoon, but that didn’t last very long when suddenly, half an hour after the last group headed down the first fairway, the rain and hail came sideways and strong. The girls battled through the downpour which lasted roughly 30 minutes and returned to the clubhouse still smiling.
A tough day at the office for the players but Brookmans Park was a brilliant test for the girls and very much enjoyed by all with some great results. The format of this event being Stableford scoring.
Winner of the 2016 Junior Girls Spring Meeting with an impressive 36 points and 83 gross score was Millie Pratten from Essendon Golf Club. In second was Sophie Brooke from East Herts Golf Club with 35 points. Getting third on countback was Emmanuelle Hewson from Mid Herts Golf Club on 34 points and in fourth was Grace Herbert from Redbourn Golf Club also on 34 points.
Winner of the Gross prize and trophy was Millie Pratten from Essendon Golf Club.
Congratulations to all the participants and winners!!!
Great first major and looking forward to a very exciting 2016
On the 5th April 2016 we had our annual Seniors V Juniors friendly fixture.
This year, due to the success of the format in 2015, we decided that one Senior and one Junior would pair up and play Greensomes Stableford
The friendly match took place at Hadley Wood Golf Club and we had the great sunshine to keep us company as the players made their way around the golf course.
We divided the players in Group A and Group B where a winning group was decided by adding the three pairs stableford points together.
Group A players were Jackie Foster paired with Millie Pratten, Gill Winter paired with Stella McDougall and Charlie Doyle paired with Danielle Storten-Sey
Group B players were Kate Nelson paired with Mandy Rooke, Georgette Van Schothorst paired with Emmanuelle Hewson and Pauline Twogood paired with Grace Herbert.
The course was in great condition and the weather did not disappoint.
The pair that came out winners on an excellent 35 points were Gill Winter and Stella McDougall. The winning Group was Group A on 89 points to Group B’s 80.
A fixture that is always really great fun and relaxed and we are looking forward to next year already.
