Bishop's Stortford win the Ovaltine Cup

Monday 16th October 2017

Winners of the groups in each of the four divisions in the Hertfordshire Ovaltine League took part in the Finals Day held yesterday, 15 October, at Porters Park Golf Club. Eight teams took part in four finals matches. The winners of the two groups in Division One, Bishop's Stortford and Essendon, were vying for the beautiful Ovaltine Cup.

Lesley Williams and Sarah Wollas (Letchworth) win the Ann MacLaurin Trophy

Congratulations to Lesley and Sarah who won the Ann MacLaurin Trophy held at Knebworth on Sunday 1 October with 38 points. This is an 18 hole greensomes stableford for a lady and a junior pair with a minimum combined handicap of 20, maximum combined handicap of 50

A resolution to proceed with the merger will be put to the vote at the HCLGA AGM which takes place on Monday 27 November. At the same time the HGU will hold an EGM to vote on the resolution. Hertfordshire's Jackie Foster in England line up to defend their Senior Women's Home International title

England will begin their defence of the Senior Women’s Home International title on Tuesday at Newport Golf Club, Wales. The six players who won the silver medal at last month’s European team championship are all in the side, together with Surrey’s Felicity Christine. The full team, captained by Debbie Richards of Surrey, is: Caroline Berry of Cheshire, Julie Brown of Staffordshire, Felicity Christine of Surrey, Fiona Edmond of Suffolk, Jackie Foster of Hertfordshire, Aileen Greenfield of Sussex and Lulu Housman of Middlesex.

Hertfordshire hosts Senior Women's Inter County Team Championship

Nine counties competed for the Senior Women's Inter County Team Championship held in at Knebworth this year. The Berkshire team won, just clinching the lead by one point from Sussex, Kent and Hertfordshire who all tied for second place.

HCLGA AGM Monday 27 November - your chance to vote on proposal to merge with the HGU

The HCLGA AGM will take place on Monday 27 November 2017 at 7.30pm at Aldwickbury Park Golf Club. During the meeting the vote regarding the proposal to merge with the HGU will take place. The Notice convening the meeting will be sent to all Club Reps on Tuesday 31 October, together with explanatory notes and how the vote is to be conducted. The outcome of the vote, for or against the resolution, will affect the future of HCLGA and golf in Hertfordshire, so please use your vote.
